U/13 Girls Highlights
Today we travelled to Underdown park against Salisbury Inter Soccer Club – Women/Girls. Under the Captaincy of Emme, the girls attacked hard, firing multiple strikes from Pippa, Emme, Grace and Lucy. Delilah was feisty around midfield and in front of goals. Barossa was controlling the game, but Salisbury led 2 nil at the mid break.
Barossa came out hard after hard time, with Pippa goaling early via a corner. The girls continued to control the game, firing multiple shots at goal. It eventually paid dividends with a super strike from Lucy hitting the net, and Pippa kicking her second for the day. It looked like victory, but Salisbury snuck a last 30 second goal to tie the game. Given that it was a Cup game, a result was required so a penalty shootout was needed. Emme and Phoebe kicked goals while superb goalkeeping from Adele took the shootout to 2 goals each, which meant it went to a sudden death shoot out. After misses from both sides, goalkeeper Adele decided to take matters into her own hands, and in extraordinary scenes, kicked the winning goal.
