BUFC Under 14 Girls vs Playford

Barossa United faced a strong Playford side at Edinburgh North, in warm conditions for their second game of the season.

Playford struck early with two quick goals while Barossa were settling into the game. Emme Mowbray responded with a great goal before half time to put Barossa on the scoreboard, trailing 3–1 at the break.

The defence, led by Liliana Catanzariti and Daisy Barlow, worked tirelessly, with strong support from Annabel Bowley, Leila Bowley and Isabel Dickson. Ava Knowles was courageous in goals in the first half, stopping several attempts and clearing strongly into the attacking half to create opportunities for the strikers.

Maya Garfield took over in goals in the second half, making multiple important saves against a fast Playford attack. Charlotte Kitschke showed great control through the midfield, while Molly Rich, Pippa Brassil and Meg Block chased hard. Lucy Amos and Phoebe Koch worked tirelessly to create scoring opportunities.

Despite a hard fought contest, Playford was the better side on the day, winning 7–1.  Barossa displayed a true team effort, with everyone contributing and showing determination until the final siren.
