Gawler Eagles 3 – Barossa United 5
Barossa United faced Gawler Eagles on Friday night in their catch-up game, coming away with a hard-fought 5–3 victory after an
entertaining contest between the two sides.
Barossa got off to the perfect start, finding the back of the net within the opening few minutes. Gawler responded strongly, however,
scoring twice before the break to take a 2–1 lead into half-time.
The second half saw Barossa come out firing. Two quick goals turned the game around and put Barossa back in front, shifting the
momentum firmly their way.
Shyanne Giammona and Maggie Fitzharris then sealed the result, scoring within seconds of each other to put the game beyond Gawler’s
reach.
Shyanne Giammona finished the night with an impressive hat-trick, while Maggie Fitzharris scored twice to complete Barossa’s five
goals.
It was a tough, competitive game and another excellent result for the Barossa women, who showed plenty of fight to come from behind
and secure the 5–3 victory.
