Barossa United vs Angle Vale
Barossa United’s Under 13s were narrowly beaten by Angle Vale at home, in a contest that took time to get going as both teams shook off the rust from a long break.
The slow start suited neither side, and it was Angle Vale who broke the deadlock, going 1-0 up just before half time. At the back, Fletcher Schild was outstanding, keeping the defence solid and refusing to let anything through his side of the pitch.
In midfield, Judd Waldhuter, playing up from his usual team, had a massive game, showing off his strong running and dribbling to drive the team forward. Harry Tolhurst was strong up front and showed his excellent holding play and creating some great chances to score.
Angle Vale pushed their lead out as the game went on, but Barossa showed good fight in the closing stages, hitting back with two late goals to make it 2-3. It proved too little too late, and the match finished 2-3 to Angle Vale.
A gutsy performance against a good Angle Vale side, and the team will be looking for a strong finish to the season.
