On a beautiful sunny Barossa morning, the under 14 girls delivered a dominant and well-structured performance to secure a 10–0 victory over Salisbury Inter.
Barossa set the tone early, taking control of possession and attacking intent from the opening minutes. Sharp combination play between Molly Rich and Pippa Brassil created early chances, with Lucy Amos opening the scoring following a well‑timed through ball. Continuous pressure saw Pippa quickly add a second, capitalising on a rebound after an excellent initial save by the Inter goalkeeper.
Despite Inter’s resilience and strong goalkeeping, Barossa’s passing, composure, and movement continued to unlock opportunities. Lucy added two more goals before halftime, both set up by exceptional vision and passing from Molly, giving Barossa a 4–0 lead at the break. Inter showed determination, despite having no substitutes, and were kept scoreless by a disciplined Barossa defensive team of Jana Tscharke, Daisy Barlow, Annabel Bowley, Leila Bowley, Meg Block, Jemima Teague and a key save from goalkeeper Maya Garfield.
The second half resumed with Barossa immediately on the attack. Jemima opened the scoring after a slick passing move involving Isabel Dickson and Molly. Continued pressure and teamwork saw goals from Lucy, Jemima, Daisy, Emme Mowbray, and a long‑range strike from Lucy to close out the match. The coaches moved many players into different positions in the second half with Charlotte Kitschke and Ruby Roth holding the centre defensive roles with ease.
While the scoreline reflected Barossa’s dominance, it did not fully capture Salisbury Inter’s effort, particularly their goalkeeper, who produced countless saves to limit the damage. Barossa’s defensive unit and hard‑working midfield ensured a clean sheet, complementing an outstanding attacking display built on teamwork, vision, and execution.
