On Sunday the Barossa Girls travelled to Newspot Stadium for the Round 11 Match against Modbury Vista.
In winter like conditions the rain, wind and freezing conditions didn’t stop the Barossa girls from putting in a solid performance for the
entire match.
The first half saw the Barossa girls play strong attacking football whilst still defending strongly. Strategic movement of the ball from
defence to offence had our girls have a number of near scoring opportunities but just couldn’t put a goal in the back of the net. The only
goal of the first half went to Modbury after an own goal was accidentally kicked.
The second half was much of the same with Barossa putting on an attacking clinic. The girls were able to capitalise on their
opportunities to score a couple of goals and could have had a few more with a couple of near misses and one on target, but a great save
by the Modbury goalkeeper stopped it from going in.
The girls should all be proud of themselves, in trying conditions they kept to the game plan and formations that we have been learning
at training. Well done to all girls on a great performance.
