U11 Girls Battle Hard in Holiday Clash

Cold. Wet. Rainy. Perfect conditions for soccer.

The Under 11 Girls put up a tremendous fight against Adelaide University in a free-flowing contest packed with end-to-end action. It
was never going to be an easy challenge, with the “Road Warriors” once again playing away from home in the middle of the school
holidays.

The girls who were available came out firing. Lily Elix found the back of the net twice, while Lucy Barnes also got on the scoresheet as
Barossa continued to challenge the home side throughout the match.

Despite a determined performance, Barossa narrowly went down 4–3. The game wasn’t without controversy, with what appeared to be
a late equaliser from Lily Elix waved away by the referee.

Regardless of the result, the girls walked off the field with smiles on their faces after another spirited team performance. Chilyssia
Merkx was named the Reading Cinemas Player of the Match for her outstanding effort.
