Under 9 Girls Battle Hard Against Adelaide Jaguars
On Sunday, the Under 9 Girls headed to Jubilee Reserve in West Lakes to take on the Adelaide Jaguars Yellow Team.
The first half saw a lot of play in the Barossa girls’ defensive half, with Adelaide Jaguars creating plenty of attacking opportunities. To
Barossa’s credit, the girls defended hard, and our goalkeeper kept a clean sheet with some great hand and foot saves.
Our girls started to create some attacking movement towards the end of the first half, with some good dribbling and passing setting up
a couple of scoring opportunities. At halftime, both teams remained locked at nil all.
The second half was also evenly contested, with both teams showing good ball movement and creating plenty of attacking plays. The
home side proved to be just that bit stronger, finishing the game strongly by scoring a couple of goals in the closing stages.
The girls should be proud of themselves, as the Adelaide Jaguars are a strong team that is drilled well. For the majority of the game, our
girls matched them and competed brilliantly, only conceding late in the match.
Next week, we play at home against Flinders United.
