Barossa U9 Blues Match Report
On a frosty yet sunny morning, the Barossa U9 Blues travelled to Newton to take on Campbelltown in what proved to be a fantastic
contest between two determined teams. Despite the ground being extremely muddy and wet, both sides embraced the challenging
conditions and played with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship.
Barossa started strongly, applying plenty of pressure to the Campbelltown defence from the opening whistle. The team moved the ball
well, worked hard, and created several attacking opportunities while remaining disciplined in defence. The players adapted well to the
difficult conditions and never gave up on any contest.
Archie Liddy demonstrated excellent persistence throughout the match, consistently applying pressure and making numerous tackles
that disrupted the opposition’s attacking momentum. It was arguably his best performance of the season, showing growing confidence,
composure, and belief in his abilities.
Lincoln Absolom was a standout in defence, clearing dangerous balls and stopping multiple goal-scoring attempts. His strong defensive
presence earned him the nickname “The Enforcer,” and he again proved to be a force to be reckoned with.
Patrick Kelly worked tirelessly to create space and generate attacking opportunities. His excellent corner kicks delivered dangerous
balls into the box, creating scoring chances. He was also heavily involved in attacking play, making intelligent runs and finding good
shooting positions, though he was unable to convert on the day.
Carson Dahlitz was an exceptional presence across the field. Whether pushing forward in attack or tracking back in defence, his work
rate and determination were outstanding. He also provided a key assist with a well-timed corner kick that led to a goal.
Sonny West delivered an exceptional all-round performance, impacting both attack and defence throughout the match. His effort and
skill were rewarded with two excellent goals, including one from a well-delivered corner by Carson Dahlitz, which he finished with
confidence.
James Crowder faced constant pressure but remained composed and held his own, showing resilience and making several crucial saves
to deny the opposition.
Abel Commane showcased excellent teamwork and ball distribution, consistently involving teammates in attacking play. His efforts
were rewarded with a well-earned goal following a brilliant passage of play and outstanding combination work with Patrick Kelly.
Benjamin Clay displayed outstanding defensive awareness, reading the game well and intercepting passes before they became
dangerous. His strong, well-timed tackles helped disrupt the opposition’s momentum.
Otto Krzoska was an outstanding all-round performer. His ability to read the game allowed him to intercept the ball repeatedly,
breaking up opposition attacks and creating opportunities going forward. His relentless work ethic and passion for the game were
evident from start to finish.
Overall, it was a fantastic team performance and a well-deserved result. The continued improvement, teamwork, and enjoyment of the
game were clear throughout, making it another memorable outing for the Barossa U9 Blues.
